Karen Dainty has a diverse work experience in the education and performing arts sectors. From 2005 to 2007, they worked as an Education Manager at Hull Truck Theatre. In 2007, they joined Bishop Grosseteste University as a Senior Lecturer and held this position until 2014. Following that, they joined DN Colleges Group and held various roles including Head of Performing and Creative Arts from 2014 to 2017, HE Academic Quality and Development Manager from 2017 to 2020, and currently serves as the Associate Director for Higher Education (Widening Participation) from August 2020.

Karen Dainty obtained their Doctor of Education (EdD) degree from the University of Leicester between the years 2011 and 2018. Karen'sfield of study was focused on Applied Theatre and Education.
