Geneva Youel is an experienced communications professional with a robust background in media relations and strategic communication. Currently serving as Director of Communications at DLA Piper since October 2019, Geneva previously held the role of Senior Communications Manager at the same firm. Prior to this, Geneva worked as Media Relations Manager at Nixon Peabody LLP from May 2016 to September 2019 and as Media Relations Counsel at newsPRos from August 2007 to May 2016. An early career as a Reporter at the Los Angeles Daily Journal from October 2004 to March 2006 and as a Freelance Journalist for various newspapers from January 2001 to October 2004 rounds out Geneva's extensive experience. Geneva holds a degree in Communications with a focus on Print Journalism from Stephen F. Austin State University.
