Norm Barrette is an experienced health services leader currently serving as the Commissioner of Health Services for the District Municipality of Muskoka since November 2018. In this role, Barrette provides strategic leadership and administration for various health services, including paramedic services and public health, working closely with the Chief Administrative Officer and Council. Previously, Barrette held multiple key positions within York Region, including Chief and General Manager of Paramedic & Seniors Services, overseeing extensive emergency medical services and community programs for over 1.2 million residents. Barrette's earlier experience includes serving as Chief of EMS for the City of Cornwall. Academic qualifications include a Graduate Diploma in Public Administration from Western University, a Master's Certificate in Municipal Leadership from the Schulich School of Business, and advanced care training from The Michener Institute.
