Kara O'Connor has a diverse work experience that spans over several decades. Kara began their career as a comedian, writer, and actor, working independently. In 2019, they joined Distiller as a video and content production specialist. Prior to that, they worked as a graphic designer for kararobot.com. Kara also worked with Day Job Comedy as a sketch player, writer, and digital content creator starting in 2014. From 2012 to 2019, they were the owner of Leash the Hounds Pet Services. Additionally, Kara worked as a contributing writer for Watch Play Read watchplayread.com in 2014 and as a production and commercial voice-over artist for Entercom in 2011-2012. Kara also had a significant tenure at Sirius Satellite Radio working as a producer and on-air talent, where they hosted a music show, produced daily news pieces, and maintained professional relationships with artists from 2007 to 2011. Throughout their various roles, Kara has demonstrated their creativity, production skills, and professionalism in the industry.
Kara O'Connor has a diverse educational background in the field of comedy and arts. In 2020, they attended The Second City Hollywood to pursue Sketch Comedy Writing, while simultaneously joining The Groundlings for Comedy studies, where they are currently enrolled. In the past, they completed an Associate's degree in Applied Arts and Sciences with a major in Animation and Design from Shoreline Community College, between 2015 and 2018. Furthermore, in 2005, Kara briefly studied Media Arts at The New School and from 2002 to 2004, they attended CSB Media Arts Center for Radio and Television Broadcasting Technology/Technician. Alongside their formal education, Kara has also participated in various comedy workshops, including the Gary Austin Improv Workshop and Magnet Improv.
