Allegra Cira Fischer is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in advocacy for individuals with disabilities and underserved communities. Currently serving as a Senior Policy Attorney at Disability Rights California, Allegra focuses on legislative advocacy to enhance protections for students with disabilities and combat the school-to-prison pipeline. Previous roles include Education Equity Advocate, where Allegra engaged in community outreach and school board advocacy, and Program Manager & Staff Attorney at the Chicago Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, where Allegra developed initiatives to promote housing and employment equity. Allegra has also contributed significantly to various organizations, including Chicago Volunteer Legal Services and the Family Defense Center, working on issues related to mortgage foreclosure mediation and child welfare advocacy. Allegra holds a JD, Cum Laude, from DePaul University College of Law and a B.S. in Communications from the University of Miami.
