David Pugh is the Manufacturing Market Lead at Digital Catapult. David was previously a Technology Analyst at IDTechEx from September 2016 to January 2018. At IDTechEx, they were responsible for conducting market research and consultancy on emerging technology across offices in Cambridge, Seoul, Tokyo and Silicon Valley.

Some of the market reports they authored include "Environmental Gas Sensors 2017-2027," "Technologies for Diabetes Management 2017-2027," "Internet of Things 2017-2027," "Point of Care Biosensors 2017-2027," "Wearable Sensors 2017-2027," "Low Power Wireless Networks 2017-2027," and "Ten Forecasts for the Automotive Sector 2018."

David Pugh has a PhD in Electronic Engineering from UCL, an MRes in Security Science from UCL, and a MChem in Chemistry from the University of Surrey. David also has certification from the University of Cambridge in Circular Economy & Sustainability Strategies, Technische Universiteit Delft in Engineering Design for a Circular Economy, LoRa Alliance in LoRaWAN Academy Certification, ECDL Foundation in European Computer Driving Licence, and British Red Cross in Emergency First Aid at Work.
