Julie McCombie has extensive work experience in various roles related to information technology and system management. Julie began their career in 1984 at Sweda International, where they worked as an EPOS Product Manager and Special Projects Manager. Julie then moved on to Nixdorf Computer, where they served as a Retail Systems Specialist. Their responsibilities included presales, business process consultancy, and applications support for various retail systems.
In 1993, Julie joined Vanity Fayre as a Distribution Manager, where they were in charge of developing the distributer network and improving the Aromatherapy Steam Room range. Julie then moved on to Hamells C&A in 1995, where they worked as a Procedures and Store Systems Manager. Their duties included implementing new Epos and merchandise management systems in stores and establishing store support processes.
In 1998, Julie joined Conran Restaurants as a Group Applications and Restaurant Systems Manager. Their responsibilities involved project management, installation, and implementation of restaurant systems, as well as technical support for mail, warehouse, and office systems.
From 2003 to 2016, Julie worked at Retail Trust, first as an ICT Manager and later as Head of IT. In these roles, they oversaw IT services, data communications, applications, and telecommunications. Julie also managed budgets, implemented change controls, and co-located mail.
Julie's most recent position was at the Church of England as the Head of Change and Business Integration. Julie held this role from 2016 to 2019 and was responsible for driving organizational change and integrating business processes.
In 2019, Julie joined Diabetes UK as the Head of Information Technology, where their current role involves overseeing IT systems and infrastructure.
Julie McCombie obtained an MBA degree in Chaity/Public Sector from the Open University in 2005. Prior to that, they completed their A levels in Biology, Art, and English at Grey Coat Hospital from 1978 to 1983. Julie also attended The University of Edinburgh, although specific details about their degree are not provided.
