Stephen Walters has an extensive work experience in the IT industry. Stephen began their career in 2002 as a SCM Project Manager at Capita. In 2003, they joined Borland as a Product Marketing Manager and Principal Solutions Consultant. In 2010, they became VP, Head of Application Services at Deutsche Bank. In 2012, they moved to Cognizant Technology Solutions as a Principal Architect, Associate Director. In 2016, they joined Micro Focus as a Lead Solutions Consultant. In 2017, they became a Tech Architecture Delivery Manager at Accenture. In 2019, they joined xMatters, inc as a Solutions Architect. In 2021, they became a DevOps Institute Ambassador and a Field CTO for CEM Digital at Everbridge. Currently, they are a Field CTO at GitLab, providing thought leadership on DevOps, DevSecOps and Value Stream Management.

Stephen Walters' education history includes completing a BTEC HND in Electrical & Electronic Engineering at The University of Huddersfield from 1988 to 1991 and attending St Joseph's College, Stoke-on-Trent, United Kingdom from 1980 to 1986.
