Erik Kvale is a seasoned geological professional with extensive experience in the oil and gas industry and academic settings. Currently serving as a Senior Geological Advisor at Devon Energy since July 2006, Erik Kvale leads a technical group focused on supporting new ventures and asset teams through comprehensive geologic data analysis, core description, and depositional environment interpretation. Previously, as a Senior Geologist, Erik Kvale performed regional prospect analyses on Ordovician and Silurian carbonates in key U.S. basins. Prior to joining Devon Energy, Erik Kvale spent nearly two decades at Indiana University Bloomington, contributing to the Indiana Geological Survey by developing innovative exploration strategies for low-sulfur coal in the Illinois Basin. Erik Kvale holds a Ph.D. in geology from Iowa State University, obtained between 1982 and 1986.
