Ishaan Kumar has a wealth of experience in the tech industry, beginning with a Software Engineer Intern role at Purplle.com in 2014. Ishaan then moved on to a Software Engineer Intern role at Microsoft in 2015, followed by a Software Engineer 3 role at Juniper Networks in 2016. In 2019, they took on a Masters Candidate role at Mila - Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute and a Machine Learning Developer/Research Intern role at AFX Medical. In 2020, they became an Associate Researcher at Huawei, where they designed and implemented Graph Neural Network based techniques for recommendation systems. Theirwork resulted in a SIGIR 2022 publication, titled "EFLEC: Efficient Feature-LEakage Correction in GNN based Recommendation Systems". In 2021, they became a Research Engineer at Descript.

Ishaan Kumar completed their Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur between 2012 and 2016. Ishaan then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Computer Science from the Université de Montréal, which they completed in 2020.
