Rachel Harris has had a diverse work experience since 2013. Rachel began their career as a Retail Specialist at Krispy Kreme, followed by a Technical Intern at Northrop Grumman Corporation in 2015. In 2016, they were a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Insitu Inc and a Senior Thesis Research Student at the MIT Man Vehicle Lab. In 2018, they were a Systems Engineering Intern at Intel Corporation and an Independent Research Student at the University of Michigan Neurobionics Lab. Since 2019, they have been a Control Engineering Team Lead and Senior Controls Engineer at Dephy, Inc., where they collect and analyzes sensor data to better understand gait patterns in different users, writes algorithms to classify different types of gaits, and writes control algorithms for an ankle exoskeleton. Additionally, they have been the President of the MIT Design, Build, Fly Team since 2013, and a Undergraduate Research Student at Zero Robotics Middle School Summer in 2014.
Rachel Harris attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2013 to 2017, where they earned their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Aerospace Engineering. Rachel then continued their education at the University of Michigan - Rackham Graduate School, graduating in 2019 with a Master of Science (MS) in Robotics.
