Associate Professor Sophie Adams is a distinguished psychiatrist currently serving as the Medical Director of the Mental Health Division at Austin Health since January 2021. With extensive experience in various leadership roles, Adams has previously held positions such as Director of Medical Services (locum) at The Royal Melbourne Hospital & NorthWestern Mental Health and Director of Clinical Services for multiple headspace centers. Adams also served as Medical Director at Orygen Youth Health and Chief Medical Officer at NorthWestern Mental Health, among other roles. Academically, Adams has achieved numerous qualifications, including a PhD in Neuropsychiatry from the University of Melbourne and fellowships in psychiatry and medical administration. As of 2023, Adams is pursuing further education with the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
