Betony Jones is a seasoned professional in labor, climate, and workforce development, currently serving as Labor Advisor to Secretary Granholm at the U.S. Department of Energy since October 2021. Previously, Betony was a Senior Advisor for Workforce at Inclusive Economics and founded the consulting firm, focusing on labor and equity in climate policies. Betony held several key positions including Recovery Advisor at NextGen Policy, Workforce and Labor Advisor at the Energy Foundation, and Associate Director at UC Berkeley Labor Center, where expertise was utilized in policy research on clean energy and climate change. Betony also founded Fourth Sector Strategies and Sierra Nevada Energy Watch, leading impactful initiatives to create jobs and promote economic development in the context of environmental sustainability. Academic qualifications include a Master's degree in Environmental Science from Yale University and a Bachelor's degree in Plant Biology and Ethnobotany from the University of Michigan.
