Laura Copeland is a professional with extensive experience in environmental regulation and management within the mining sector in Western Australia. Currently serving as Team Leader Mining Goldfields at the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety since August 2021, Laura previously held the position of Senior Environmental Officer at the Department of Mines and Petroleum, Environment Division from February 2012 to August 2021, where responsibilities included environmental approvals. Earlier roles include serving as a Clerical Officer at the Western Australian Department of Environment and Conservation, and as a Store Person at Black Swan and Cawse nickel mines. Laura holds a Bachelor of Science with honours in Conservation Biology and Management from The University of Western Australia, completed in 2011, and is an alumnus of Eastern Goldfields College.
