Victoria (Tory) Nugent currently serves as Legal Director at Democracy Forward since November 2023. Previously, Nugent was a Partner and Co-Chair of the Consumer Protection Practice Group at Cohen Milstein Sellers & Toll PLLC from 2000 to August 2023, where significant contributions included representing clients in consumer class actions and leading large-scale litigation for public clients. Nugent also held roles as an Executive Committee Member and Ethics Officer at the firm, focusing on attorney development and legal ethics. Prior experience includes serving as an Equal Justice Works Fellow and Impact Litigator at Public Justice, as well as a Special Assistant To The President at Public Citizen. Nugent holds a Doctor of Law (JD) from Georgetown University Law Center and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in History from Wesleyan University.
