Theo Prins is a seasoned marine ecologist with extensive experience in research and advisory roles. Currently serving as a senior researcher and advisor at Deltares since January 2008, Theo previously held the position of senior scientist in marine ecology at Rijkswaterstaat from 1997 to 2007. Prior to this, a post-doctoral appointment was held at the Belle W. Baruch Institute for Marine & Coastal Sciences from 1996 to 1997, and a researcher role in estuarine ecology was undertaken at the Netherlands Institute of Ecology, Centre for Estuarine and Marine Ecology from 1983 to 1996. Theo holds a Ph.D. in Marine Ecology from Wageningen University & Research and a Master of Science in Biology from Leiden University.
