Alfons Smale is a seasoned professional in hydraulic engineering, coastal structures, and wave dynamics, currently serving as a Senior Advisor/Researcher at Deltares since September 2010. Previously, Alfons held the position of Group Head of Coastal and River Engineering in Rotterdam and worked as a project engineer at Witteveen+Bos from December 2000 to September 2010. Alfons holds a Master of Science in Civil Engineering with a focus on river engineering from Delft University of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Windesheim.
