Yi-Lin Tsai is a Data Science and AI Researcher at Stanford University, specializing in applications of AI for environmental challenges. With a Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Stanford, experience includes enhancing vehicle routing efficiency during disaster evacuations and employing advanced deep learning techniques to improve disaster response using hyperspectral satellite imagery. Yi-Lin has served as a Teaching Assistant and is actively involved as an AI Research Mentor and Teaching Team Lead for the AI4ALL program, where technical workshops have trained high school students in natural language processing. Additionally, as an AI Project Leader in Professor Andrew Ng’s Machine Learning Group, Yi-Lin has contributed to developing predictive models for climate-related disasters. Teaching ambitions extend to online quantum computing courses for underrepresented high school students, complemented by roles in undergraduate admissions and mentorship in design thinking and sustainability initiatives. Prior educational coordination experience includes organizing programs for international students at Stanford.
