Mr. Makridakis leads Delta’s business in Asia, Australia, and the offshore jurisdictions, including the Cayman Islands, BVI and the Channel Islands. Mr. Makridakis works out of the firm’s Hong Kong office.
Prior to joining Delta, Mr. Makridakis was Managing Partner and Head of Dispute Resolution & Insolvency of the Hong-Kong office of Carey Olsen. Mr. Makridakis has a broad range of experience with investment funds, offshore and domestically. Mr. Makridakis has particular experience working with distressed investment funds and has been a commercial litigator for over 15 years with global litigation and arbitration expertise. Prior to launching the Hong-Kong office of Carey Olsen, Mr. Makridakis practiced Cayman Islands law dating back to 2008 when started his career with Walkers Global.
Upon admission as a solicitor in Australia in 2001, Mr. Makridakis specialized in insolvency law, restructuring and commercial litigation. Mr. Makridakis is an accredited insolvency specialist in Australia, having attained distinction levels in the Insolvency Practitioners Association of Australia advanced insolvency course. In Australia, Mr. Makridakis worked for two of Australia’s leading law firms, Clayton Utz and Mallesons Stephen Jaques (now King & Wood Mallesons), and was involved in market leading work under the management of recognized experts in the insolvency, restructuring, and commercial litigation fields.
