Liza Van der Merwe is a seasoned professional in economics, currently serving as a Partner at Deloitte since July 2017. With a strong background in economic consulting, Liza has held various managerial roles at Deloitte Access Economics in New Zealand and previously at the Commerce Commission, where Liza progressed from Economist to Senior Economist from 2008 to June 2017. Prior work experience includes a position as Senior Economist at The Competition Commission of South Africa and a Junior Economist role at Conningarth Economists. Liza also contributed to academia as a Lecturer in Economics at the University of Pretoria. Liza holds a Master's degree in Econometrics and Quantitative Economics from the University of Pretoria and completed further studies in Competition Law at the University of the Witwatersrand.
