Payam Torab started their work experience in 2001 as a Protocol Engineer at ADVA Optical Networking. Payam then worked as a Systems Engineer at Lambda Optical Systems from 2003 to 2007. In 2007, Torab became the Director of Software and Protocols at WiLinx Corporation until 2009. From 2009 to 2016, they served as a Sr. Principal Scientist, Wireless Connectivity at Broadcom Limited, where they worked on systems engineering and standard development for wireless systems. Starting from 2017, Torab worked as the Director of Engineering at PERI, Inc. where they were involved in designing and developing advanced iPhone cases. Later in 2017, they joined Delart as a Consultant at Meta.

Payam Torab received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology from 1988 to 1992. Payam then pursued further education at Georgia Institute of Technology, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from 1998 to 1999 and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from 1998 to 2000.
