Jay Parmar currently serves as the Head of the Secretary of State's Delivery Unit at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, having assumed this role in July 2023. Prior to this position, Jay Parmar was a Senior Adviser in the Prime Minister's Delivery Unit at 10 Downing Street from June 2021 to August 2023, focusing on strategy, policy, and key priorities. Jay Parmar's earlier experience includes roles as a Principal Analyst/Adviser and Senior Economist at the Cabinet Office, where contributions were made to the COVID-19 response and economic policy. Jay Parmar began a career in the civil service as an Economic Analyst at the Department for Work and Pensions and progressed to become an Assistant Economist (Fast Streamer) at the Department for Education. Jay Parmar holds a Master of Science in Economics from the University of Warwick and a Bachelor of Science in Economics with Employment Experience from The University of Sheffield.
