Cody Gentry has a diverse work experience, with their most recent role as a Mission Manager at Defense Unicorns starting in 2022. Prior to that, they worked as an intern at Defense 🦄, where they were a product manager for the Baffles project, focusing on evaluating the use of KubeVirt for running VM-based applications alongside container-based applications. Cody successfully coordinated and led multiple discovery and framing efforts and collaborated with software developers to develop a proof-of-concept.

Cody also has a strong background in the United States Air Force, where they held several leadership positions. Cody was the Chief of the Offensive Cyber DevSecOps Section, leading the Black Label software factory and helping software developers adopt DevOps practices to improve product quality and reduce lead times. Cody also served as the SBIRS Sustainment Test Program Manager, overseeing test and integration efforts for the Space Based Infrared System (SBIRS) and improving mission capabilities. As the Chief of the SBIRS Ground Engineering, they managed a team responsible for the planning and scheduling of ground infrastructure for the SBIRS and Defense Support Program constellations. Additionally, Cody has significant experience as a Senior Ballistic Missile Trajectory Engineer, leading a team in intelligence gathering, missile modeling, and algorithm development, which resulted in the implementation of ideas and algorithms for National Defense missions.

Cody Gentry's education history begins in 2008 when they enrolled at the United States Air Force Academy. Cody completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Astronautical Engineering in 2012, specializing in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical/Space Engineering. Following this, from 2013 to 2019, they pursued a Master of Engineering degree in Engineering/Industrial Management at the University of Louisville.
