Daniel Briley

Founder at DeepSurface

Daniel Briley has a long history of working in the field of information security and privacy. Daniel began their career in 1994 as a Technical Staff at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. In 1997, they took on the role of Information Technology Consultant at California State University, Fullerton. In 2000, they became a Systems Engineer at OpenService, Inc. In 2004, they became the Privacy Manager at ACC Capital Holdings. In 2007, they became the Business Information Security Officer at Citi Residential Lending. From 2008 to 2010, they held the role of Information Security Officer at Legacy Health and was a Committee Member at OAHHS. In 2012, they founded Summit Security Group, a multi-disciplinary firm specializing in Cybersecurity Engineering, Governance, Risk Management, and Regulatory Compliance. In 2017, they founded DeepSurface Security, an automated Predictive Vulnerability Management suite of tools. Daniel has also served as an Adjunct Faculty at Pacific University, teaching graduate-level Health Information Technology courses and developing compliance curriculum related to information security and privacy in healthcare.

Daniel Briley has a BA from California State University, Fullerton and a Master of Business Administration - MBA from the University of Redlands. Daniel also has certifications in Advanced Open Water Diver from PADI, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)², Divemaster (DM) from NAUI Worldwide, and The Certified Information Privacy Professional - United States (CIPP/US) from the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
