Loïc Leray

Sustainability Lead at DeepSquare

Loïc Leray is a sustainability professional with over 10 years of experience in the field. From 2021 to present, they have been the Sustainability Lead at DeepSquare Association, where they are responsible for developing and implementing the environmental and social governance strategy (ESG). Loïc has also developed partnerships with institutional and private sector organizations to strengthen the ties between high-performance computing (HPC) and environmental sciences and engineering. From 2019 to 2021, they were an independent consultant at STS-Conseils, a sustainability analysis and consulting firm. From 2017 to 2019, they were a co-founder of GuestBuster. From 2012 to 2013, they were a PhD student at the Institute of Terrestrial Surface Dynamics (IDYST) at the University of Lausanne. From 2013 to 2017, they were a co-founder and technical director of My Cloud Kitchen, a web and mobile platform for managing and analyzing household food consumption. From 2012 to 2013, they were a junior consultant at SOFIES and an environmental engineer intern at CSD INGENIEURS, where they conducted environmental impact studies and developed an integrated material management concept for the third Rhône correction. In 2011, they were a scientific collaborator at the Summit Foundation (Mountain Propre Project), where they developed and coordinated a waste collection, recovery, and disposal project in the Toubkal tourist valley in the High Atlas. Loïc was also an assistant researcher at Hokkaido University and the Resource Optimization Initiative in 2010.

Loïc Leray completed their education history with a Doctorat ès Sciences en Géosciences de l'Environnement, mention Sciences de l'Environnement from the University of Lausanne - UNIL in 2019. Prior to that, they obtained a Maîtrise universitaire ès Sciences en géosciences de l’environnement from Univeristé de Lausanne in 2011. In 2006, they completed a Passerelle DUBS from Ecole PrEP - Lausanne. Loïc also obtained a Maturité professionnelle technique from ERACOM in 2005 and a Certificat Fédéral de Capacité (CFC) from Bobst SA in 2004.
