Rucha Deshpande is currently a Manchester Access Programme Academic Tutor at The University of Manchester, supporting Year 12 students from underrepresented backgrounds in developing their research and academic skills. Deshpande serves as a Widening Participation Fellow in the Faculty of Science and Engineering, focusing on outreach initiatives that bridge research and schools. As a PhD researcher, Rucha explores stakeholder perceptions related to climate events in India, while also working as a Reslife Advisor to enhance student wellbeing in University halls. Rucha mentors children in disadvantaged areas with Debate Mate, and has participated in various programs related to public policy, climate change, and environmental studies. Rucha's academic background includes a PhD in Environmental Science with a focus on Climate Change, an MSc in International Development, and a BTech in Civil Engineering.
