Olaf Sleijpen has extensive experience in financial supervision and economic policy, currently serving as an Alternate member of the Governing Council at the European Central Bank since February 2020, and as an Executive Director at De Nederlandsche Bank since January 2011. Olaf has held various leadership roles within De Nederlandsche Bank, including Director of Insurance Supervision and Divisional Director of Financial Supervision Policy, while also being a board member of EIOPA and the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision. Additional roles include being a Kroonlid at the Sociaal-Economische Raad since March 2020 and a Professor of European Economic Policy at Maastricht University since December 2007. Olaf's previous experience includes positions at APG, Pensioenfonds ABP, and the European Central Bank, complemented by a strong academic foundation in economics from the University of Groningen and Maastricht University.
