Chouaib Boukaftane, PhD, is an accomplished R&D manager currently leading a team at De La Rue in the US, focusing on troubleshooting production issues, quality control, and product development since April 2021. Previously, as an associate research fellow at Sappi North America from August 2018 to April 2021, Chouaib was the technical lead in developing coating solutions for decorative laminates and contributed to marketing strategy, manufacturing scaling, and customer service. From February 2003 to March 2018, Chouaib served as a senior research chemist at MacDermid Graphics Solutions, where responsibilities included new product development and team management. Earlier experience includes formulating photopolymer plates and conducting postdoctoral research at Eindhoven University of Technology from January 2000 to December 2002. Chouaib earned a PhD in Photopolymerization and related fields from Université de Haute-Alsace Mulhouse-Colmar in 2000, following a Master's degree in Chemistry from the same institution.
