Freddie Breed is a seasoned mining professional currently serving as Principal: Underground at De Beers Group since November 2024. Previously, Freddie held various senior roles at De Beers South Africa from February 2010 to November 2024, including Senior Manager Technical Services, Principal Mining Engineer, and Senior Mining Engineer. Key responsibilities included mine design, production scheduling, operating cost modeling, and the development of production management tools. Earlier experience at De Beers involved continuous business improvement initiatives and foundational roles in mining operations. Freddie holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Mining from the University of Pretoria and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Management of Technology and Innovation from the Production Management Institute.
