Ray Akimoto has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Ray currently holds the position of Vice President of Sales at DDN Storage since November 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Google as a Senior Account Executive for Higher Education and EdTech/Google Cloud from March 2021 to October 2023. Before their tenure at Google, they served as a Sales Director at DataDirect Networks from March 2012 to March 2021, where they were responsible for leading the OpenStack business global virtual team and developing new solutions. Ray achieved President Club Winner status multiple times during their tenure at DataDirect Networks. Ray has also gained valuable experience at Oracle Corporation, where they held positions as Group Leader/Senior Account Manager from April 2011 to March 2012, and as an Account Manager from June 2010 to January 2011. Their career began at Sun Microsystems, where they worked as a Program Manager for nine years, gaining extensive experience in hi-touch, direct sales, and business development in the government and education market. Ray also had a summer intern role at Synnex in 2000. Overall, Ray Akimoto has a strong background in sales and account management, especially in the education and technology sectors.

Ray Akimoto completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the Graduate School of Management, Globis University from 2015 to 2019. Prior to that, they studied Political Science in the Department of Economics at Meiji University from 1997 to 2001.
