Rita Ackah is an experienced professional in the field of public health and nutrition, currently serving as the Produce Prescription Coordinator at DC Greens since August 2022. In this role, Rita supports the implementation of the Produce Prescription program and coordinates a "Food is Medicine" campaign, focusing on program implementation, participant engagement, and data management. Previously, Rita worked as a Nutrition Educator for SNAP Ed at the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington, where virtual nutrition education classes were developed. With a background that includes serving as a School Nutrition Assistant and a Garden Program Coordinator through FoodCorps, Rita has demonstrated a commitment to connecting communities to food resources and education. Rita's earlier roles include various positions at Target, Kroger, and internships at Louisville Metro Public Health and Wellness, supplemented by leadership roles during studies at the University of Louisville, where Rita earned a Bachelor of Arts in Public Health.
