Simon Kervyn is an experienced professional in material development and coatings, currently serving as the Manager of Material Developments Coatings & Treatments at Datwyler Sealing Solutions since May 2017. In this role, Simon focuses on developing coatings for rubber products in contact with drugs, improving the coated product portfolio, and providing expertise to customers. Previously, Simon held the position of Manager of Materials and Surface Treatments in R&D, where responsibilities included material and coating recommendations for new projects, managing application testing services, and presenting at scientific conferences. Prior experience includes project management at CoRI, where Simon worked on the formulation and characterization of paints and coatings, and research roles at UCLA and the University of Namur, focusing on organic synthesis and luminescent compounds. Simon Kervyn has a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Namur, complemented by a Master’s degree from Cardiff University and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry.
