Gavin Fulmer is a Senior Research Scientist at NWEA as of January 2023, with extensive academic experience including a role as Associate Professor at the University of Iowa from August 2016 to May 2023 and Assistant Professor prior to that. Fulmer served as Program Director at the National Science Foundation from September 2020 to September 2022, managing research grants in the Division of Research on Learning, and held a prior position as Associate Program Director at NSF from September 2008 to May 2012. Earlier experience includes teaching as Assistant Professor of Curriculum, Teaching, & Learning at Nanyang Technological University and working as a Research Analyst at Westat focusing on educational program evaluation. Fulmer earned a Ph.D. in Learning and Instruction with a specialization in Science Education from the University at Buffalo and holds a BS in Mathematics & Physics from the University of Redlands.
