Alexis Abramson is currently the Dean of the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College. Prior to their current position, they were the Executive Director of the Nano-Network and VP for Technology Innovation at NorTech, a tech-based economic development organization in Northeast Ohio. Alexis has also served as the Director/Co-Director of the Great Lakes Energy Institute at Case Western Reserve University and as a Mechanical Engineer at Jacobs Sverdrup.
Abramson has a long history of experience in both the private and public sector. Alexis has worked on projects with the U.S. Department of Energy, collaborating with Congress, the White House, industry, and national laboratories. Alexis has also administered a $90 million/year portfolio of research and commercialization projects in partnership with the DOE. In their role at NorTech, they worked strategically with Northeast Ohio’s tech-based economic development organization. At Case Western Reserve University, they served as the Director/Co-Director of the Great Lakes Energy Institute.
Abramson holds a mechanical engineering degree from Jacobs Sverdrup and has completed post-graduate work at the University of Michigan and Northwestern University.
Alexis Abramson has a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. Alexis also has a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University.
