Libby Wayman is the Director at Dandelion Energy. Libby has over fifteen years of experience in the energy sector and has held various positions in both the public and private sector.
Libby started their career as an Environmental Engineering Intern at Delphi. After four months, they moved to SunPower Corporation as an R&D Engineer for PV Systems. After a year and seven months, they co-founded STG International / Promethean Power, where they served as a Board Director for ten months.
Wayman then transitioned to the public sector, where they spent two years and eight months as the Director of the Clean Energy Manufacturing Initiative and Senior Advisor for Manufacturing at the U.S. Department of Energy. Libby then moved to GE as the Global Director for Ecomagination, where they spent three years and two months.
Most recently, Wayman joined Breakthrough Energy Ventures as a Partner. BEV is a $1B+ fund founded by Bill Gates, John Doerr, Vinod Khosla, John Arnold, Jack Ma, Jeff Bezos, Michael Bloomberg, and others to fund innovations that can address climate change.
Wayman holds a Bachelor¡¯s degree in Environmental Engineering from Stanford University.
Libby Wayman attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where they received a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 2006. Libby was also a co-founder of the MIT Energy Club. Prior to their graduate studies, Wayman completed a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from MIT in 2004, where they served as president of Chi Epsilon.
