Dylan Parker has a diverse work experience in various research and academic roles. Currently, they are a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Fellow of the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation, a position they have held since June 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Colorado Boulder, starting in January 2022.
From August 2015 to August 2021, Dylan served as a Graduate Research Assistant at Colorado State University, where their work focused on embryonic development and cell-fate specification in the model organism Caenorhabditis elegans through the study of cell-specific transcriptomics. Dylan was particularly interested in exploring the role of sub-cellular RNA localization in directing specific cell-fates.
Before their research roles, Dylan had a brief experience in Quality Assurance Quality Control at Oregon Ice Cream, specifically working with brands like Julie's Organic, Alden's Organic, and Cascade Glacier. Dylan began this role in January 2015 and ended in July 2015.
