Sophia Johnson has been a trustee at the Dallas Museum of Art since 2015. Prior to that, they were with Alpha Business Images, LLC ("ABI"), where they were Vice President and Director of Corporate Communications. Sophia was with Undiscovered Managers, LLC from August 1997 to March 2003, where they were Vice President and Director of Corporate Communications. Sophia was with CitySquare (previously known as Central Dallas Ministries) from January 1992 to May 1996, where they were Director of Youth Education. Sophia developed and implemented four youth programs: summer jobs, tutoring, biblical studies and girls’ etiquette. Sophia also organized fundraising benefits and collaborative contracts with corporate and government sponsors.

Sophia Johnson has completed a Wharton Executive Education program in Digital Marketing Strategies for the Digital Economy from The Wharton School. Sophia has also completed a BHPMB Program in Business Administration and Management, General from The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. Sophia Johnson's educational background also includes Social Work from University of California, Berkeley (1984 - 1986) and General Studies from University of California, Los Angeles.
