Michiel (Mike) Jonkers has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Michiel (Mike) is currently the Head of Digital Technologies at DairyNZ since July 2021. Prior to that, they worked at WEL Networks for eight years, starting as a Project Manager and progressing to roles such as Solution Delivery Manager, PMO & Operations Manager, and ultimately Chief Information Officer. Michiel (Mike) also worked as a Senior Project Manager at Dimension Data New Zealand and as a Team Leader in Solutions Development at Waikato District Health Board. In addition, they have held various positions at Hamilton City Council, Alcatel New Zealand Limited, ReportSource, EMAP, GSK, and Merrill Lynch, acquiring skills in business analysis, system support, project management, and IT help desk support.
Michiel (Mike) Jonkers completed their Bachelor of Health Sciences in Paramedicine from Auckland University of Technology from 2021 to 2025. Prior to that, they completed a Strategic CIO Programme at The University of Auckland in 2016. Before this, from 2014 to 2015, they obtained a National Diploma in Ambulance Practice with a specialization in Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) from St John New Zealand. In 2007 to 2008, Michiel earned a Graduate Diploma in Information Technology with a focus on System Analysis & Design, Databases, Networking, and Project Management from Wintec - Waikato Institute of Technology. Their education journey began with a Bachelor of Management Studies (Hons) in Management Systems, Marketing & International Management, which they completed from The University of Waikato from 1994 to 1997.
