Markus Löning is the Managing Director and Senior Strategy Adviser at Löning – Human Rights & Responsible Business, a position held since January 2014. As Founder and CEO, Markus Löning focuses on integrating human rights into corporate strategies, leveraging extensive experience in working with governments, local activists, and human rights organizations. Previously, Markus served as a Senior Fellow for the Privacy Project at Stiftung Neue Verantwortung and as the Human Rights Commissioner of the German Government from April 2010 to December 2013. Additional roles include being a Member of Parliament for the German Bundestag from 2002 to 2009, where Markus acted as the spokesperson for European and development policy. Prior to entering politics, Markus Löning owned and managed Löning Werbeagentur from 1990 to 2005. Academic credentials include a Master of Arts in Political Science from Heidelberg University and an European Abitur from various European schools.
