Ahmad Ghahreman began their work experience in 2008 as a Research Assistant at The University of British Columbia, where they worked until 2012. Ahmad then joined Barrick Gold Corporation as a Metallurgist from 2012 to 2013. In 2014, they started working at Queen's University as an Assistant Professor in the Robert M. Buchan Department of Mining until 2019. Ahmad then became an Associate Professor (on Leave) and later the Associate Head of the department from 2019 to 2021. Concurrently, in 2018, they joined Li-Cycle as a Technical Advisor and eventually became the Sr. Technical Advisor on the Board of Advisory, contributing to the company's growth until August 2022. Most recently, in October 2021, Ahmad Ghahreman co-founded Cyclic Materials and serves as the CEO and President of the company.
Ahmad Ghahreman completed their education at The University of British Columbia, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Materials Engineering from 2008 to 2012. Ahmad also obtained additional certifications during their academic career, including METSIM - Chemical & Metallurgical Process Simulation Program from METSIM in February 2013, International Summer School on Surface and Interfaces on Correlated Oxides from Max-Planck–UBC Centre for Quantum Materials in September 2011, Instructional Skills Workshop (ISW) from UBC in April 2011, and Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy from The Electrochemical Society in April 2010.
