Richard Southwell has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies. Richard recently served as the Chief Financial Officer at Cutting Edge, starting in 2023. Before that, they were the Head of Finance at the same company from 2020 to 2023. Prior to their time at Cutting Edge, Richard worked as a Management Accountant at Australian Country Choice from 2019 to 2020. Richard was responsible for various accounting tasks and managing capital expenditure reporting. From 2011 to 2019, Richard held various roles at Commonwealth Bank, including Relationship Manager and Associate Private Banker, catering to SME customers and high net worth individuals. Before that, they worked as an Analyst and Management Accountant at the bank. Richard's earliest work experience was as a Management Accountant at Macquarie Group, from 2009 to 2011.

Richard Southwell received their Bachelor of Business degree in Accounting from Griffith University between 2000 and 2002. Richard then pursued a Graduate Diploma in Accounting from Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand from 2002 to 2004.
