José Martinez is currently a NDSEG Fellow and PhD student at Northeastern University, focusing on directed assembly of particles and suspensions in the DAPS Lab, while also serving as a teaching assistant for an introduction to materials science course. Prior experience includes roles as a materials and process engineer at Northrop Grumman, where significant contributions included leading non-metallic materials for the Archinaut program and optimizing manufacturing processes, as well as a materials engineer at SpaceX, coordinating non-destructive evaluations of composite structures. José also held positions in academic research and team management roles, demonstrating strong leadership and technical skills throughout a diverse career in engineering. José earned a Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Northwestern University and is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering at Northeastern University.
