Nicholas Lester has worked in the engineering field since 2018. In 2021, they began working as a Hardware Engineer I at Culture Biosciences. Prior to this, they were employed at Rice University from 2018-2020, where they worked as a Laboratory Assistant and Undergraduate Research Assistant. In 2020, they were an Automation Engineering Intern at Zymergen and a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Tile in 2019. During their time at Rice University, they were the Laser Cutter Lead and Fabshops Lead. At Zymergen, they designed components for their next generation modular automation platform and created 2D CAD drawings for suppliers. At Tile, they drove the physical design concepting of the next generation of Tile hardware products and created designs using SolidWorks and 3D printed prototypes.
Nicholas Lester attended Rice University from 2017 to 2021, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
