William Maier has a diverse work experience primarily focused on professional exchange programs between the U.S. and Germany. William began their career at CDS International in 2005 as a Program Assistant, where they administered a J-1 visa international trainee program and coordinated travel itineraries for German young professionals. William then moved on to become an Assistant Program Officer & Alumni Coordinator, where they managed alumni relations, launched and maintained social media accounts, and authored newsletters. In 2009, they became a Program Manager, responsible for marketing, recruitment, and intercultural training for participants in professional exchanges. In 2012, William joined Cultural Vistas Inc. as a Program Director for the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals, overseeing team administration for the fellowship program. William later transitioned to Cultural Vistas, where they held the roles of Director, Senior Director, and Vice President of the European Office.
William Maier attended Franklin University Switzerland from an unspecified start year until 2004, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree. Their major was International Relations, and they also pursued minors in German and Literature. In 2003, they participated in a summer course at Freie Universität Berlin known as FUBiS. Additionally, in 2001, William obtained a Certificate in German Language from did Sprachschule Berlin.
William Maier also holds several additional certifications. In 2016, they obtained a Zertifikat in Multistakeholderkompetenz / Dealmaker from LEAD | Mercator Capacity Building Center for Leadership & Advocacy. In 2011, they completed an Alþjóðlegt Sumarnámskeið í Íslensku (International Summer Course in Icelandic) at the University of Iceland - Háskóli Íslands. In 2009, they obtained a certification in the Livable Neighborhoods Program from The Municipal Art Society of New York.
