Vassy Kapelos is an accomplished journalist with extensive experience in political broadcasting. Currently serving as a host at CTV News since November 2022, Kapelos previously held the role of host for Power & Politics at CBC from March 2018 to November 2022. Prior to that, a tenure at Global News included positions as Ottawa Bureau Chief and host of The West Block from August 2016 to February 2018, and Parliamentary Correspondent with Global National from December 2013 to August 2016. Early experience includes reporting and anchoring at Global Television (AB) from October 2008 to December 2013, where coverage focused on provincial affairs in Edmonton and Calgary, and a role as a videojournalist at Southwest TV News from October 2007 to September 2008. Kapelos holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Western University, a Master of Arts in Political Science from Dalhousie University, a diploma in Journalism Broadcast Summer Institute from Seneca Polytechnic, and a qualification in TV Power Reporting from Poynter.
