Ian Samuels is the Founder and Managing Partner of New System Ventures, a climate tech venture capital firm focused on early-stage investments in mobility, energy, industry, and related technologies. In addition, Ian serves as a Founding Investor and Advisor to Crux, facilitating investments in renewable energy and advanced manufacturing. As a Term Member at the Council on Foreign Relations and a Senior Advisor at Newlab, Ian leverages extensive experience from previous roles, including Partner and Vice President at Sidewalk Infrastructure Partners and Acting General Manager at Cavnue. Ian's professional background also includes significant positions at Centerbridge Partners, Nyca Partners, and Sidewalk Labs, alongside a foundational role supporting Former Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner's book as a Research Assistant. Ian holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and The Wharton School.
