Josh Newby is a Senior Staff Industrial Designer at Cruise, leading the ID Department since January 2022 and successfully guiding the Gen 7 Origin from conception through production development. Previously, Josh held various roles at Waymo, including Staff Industrial Designer and Industrial Designer L4 and L3, from January 2018 to November 2021. At Google, Josh contributed as an Industrial Designer on the Self Driving Car Project between January 2016 and January 2018. Additional experience includes an Industrial Designer position at frog from May 2014 to January 2016, a role as a 3D-Design-Lab Tech at Carnegie Mellon University from August 2013 to May 2014, an Industrial Design Intern at Sennheiser Electronic Corporation during summer 2013, and a Design Intern at 1185 in summer 2009. Josh holds a BA in Industrial and Product Design from Carnegie Mellon University.
