James Nelson is a seasoned engineer with extensive experience in system engineering and project management across several reputable companies. Currently serving as a Senior System Engineer at Cruise since January 2023, James previously held the position of Project Engineer at PACCAR from July 2019 to January 2023 and was a Senior/Principal Algorithm Engineer at Daimler Trucks North America from December 2015 to July 2019. Earlier career highlights include a role as a D1DR Process Engineer at Intel Corporation and multiple research assistant positions at the University of Wyoming and the Air Force Research Laboratory, focusing on areas such as adaptive control, robotics, and materials testing. James holds a Ph.D. and a Master's Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, all from the University of Wyoming.
