John Schmitt is a dedicated educator currently serving as a Math Teacher at Cristo Rey San José Jesuit High School & Corporate Work Study Program since June 2021, where John teaches AP Calculus A/B and Geometry to high school students from underserved communities. Prior to this role, John Schmitt taught middle school math at St. Lawrence Elementary and Middle School from August 2018 to June 2021, transitioning to full-time teaching after a brief stint in part-time roles at multiple schools. John Schmitt has a rich background in engineering and management, having co-founded GoPhoto, LLC, and served in prominent positions such as Engineering Director at Lyris Inc. and Systems & Project Manager at Applied Materials, alongside earlier roles in engineering and project management in various companies. John Schmitt holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
