Athanasios (Thanos) Karanasos has over a decade of extensive experience in risk management and analysis, currently serving as a Lead Analyst at CRISIL Limited since September 2021, focusing on a Market Risk Full Revaluation VAR project at Bank of America. In addition, Karanasos has been a Market Risk Analyst at Zenith Bank since February 2019, specializing in Fixed Income and FX Market Risk Management. Previous roles include significant positions as a Managing Director at Riskmethods Limited, Senior Business Analyst at BNP Paribas, Morgan Stanley, Deutsche Bank, and Credit Suisse, and Associate Director at Grant Thornton LLP. Karanasos also held Senior Manager positions at PWC and KPMG. Academically, Karanasos holds an MSc in Software Engineering with a focus on Computational Mathematics and Neural Networks from the University of Essex, alongside a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
